Hôpital La Providence is a hospital in Haiti in the city of Gonaïves, located in the Artibonite department. The hospital is located on Morne-Blanc along the northern outskirts of Gonaïves.
In 2008 the previous La Providence hospital was destroyed by Hurricane Hanna and Hurricane Ike.[1]. The new hospital opened in November 2014, funded primarily by the Canadian government [2][3][4], also with assistance from the government of Mexico and French Development Agency[5]. The project was implemented by the United Nations Office for Project Services
The hospital has a capacity of 200 beds and serves as a referral center for the surrounding area. As of 2017 it receives medical interns from Quisqueya University and the University of the Aristide Foundation[6]
