Connor Brian Campbell (born November 21st, 1993) known professionally as, LEViT∆TE is an American music producer and visual artist[8][9] that grew up in East Burke, Vermont,[10] but currently resides in Los Angeles, California. He produces a wide variety of genres including Electronica, Trap Music (EDM), Electronic Hip Hop, Glitch, and Trip Hop. LEViT∆TE is known for his work as a CGI artist and graphic designer as well, which often accompanies his music. Having garnered the support of Bassnectar early on in his career for his original song “God Status”, LEViT∆TE collaborated with the artist on two separate albums, both of which peaked at #1 on Billboard Electronic Music charts.[11] Their collective tune with Macntaj, “Level Up”, was also featured in the 2017 X-Games broadcast on ESPN. LEViT∆TE’s music was also featured in the 2020 film "The Tax Collector" starring Shia LeBeouf.
Early Life
Campbell grew up in the small town of East Burke, Vermont. His early days as a musician started with turntablism when his mother purchased a Turntable, Mixer and Soundcard from a local friend.[12] In late 2011 he donned the name “DJ Levitate” whilst living in Truckee, California. After beginning to learn to produce music on Ableton Live, he moved to Seattle, Washington in 2013 and began to work under the moniker “Levitate”. In Seattle, he would DJ for local Hip Hop acts to pay bills and continue his work as a musician.[13] This continued until he picked up steam in his solo career as LEViT∆TE. Whilst producing and releasing music as LEViT∆TE, Campbell would also work as a freelance graphic designer. After gaining some momentum, he focused on solo productions and later launched his own label “Levitatemusic” in 2018. After the creation of “Levitatemusic” Connor would personally create all the visuals and branding for his solo releases and remixes and would later become better known as an audiovisual artist.
Career
2015-2016: Commercial Breakthrough
In 2015 he garnered the support of Bassnectar for his original song “God Status”, and later collaborated with the artist on two separate albums released on Amorphous music.[11] The first of which, under the moniker “Levitate” on the song “Chasing Heaven” in 2015. The second song, “Level Up” in 2016. Both of which were featured on albums that peaked at #1 on Billboard Electronic Music charts.
