La DoubleJ

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

La DoubleJ is an Italian fashion and lifestyle brand based in Milan, known for its colorful vintage prints and collaborations with historic Italian producers. The company was founded by JJ Martin, a former fashion and design journalist, in 2015.[1][2]

History[edit]

La DoubleJ began as an e-commerce website selling Martin’s personal collection of vintage jewels and clothing [3][4][5][6]. Shortly after launching, La DoubleJ began to collaborate with Mantero Seta, one of Como’s oldest silk manufacturers, to produce dresses, shirts and accessories using vintage prints from Mantero’s archive, known as DoubleJ Editions [7][8][9]. Following the launch of DoubleJ Editions dresses and shirting, Martin expanded the line to include skirts, shirts, trousers, accessories. Homeware, known as La DoubleJ Housewives, also launched, including plates and table linens in vintage prints [10][11]. La DoubleJ is also known for their pop-up shops, which feature a dedicated space in signature DoubleJ prints, in retailers such as Bergdorf Goodman in New York, Le Bon Marché in Paris, Liberty London, as well as hotels such as Il Pellicano in Tuscany and the Esencia in Mexico [12].

Collaborations[edit]

A central tenet of La DoubleJ’s business model is collaboration with Italian producers and creatives. In the past, La DoubleJ has partnered with silk manufacturer Mantero Seta, ceramic company Bitossi, linen producer Mascioni, interior design firm Dimorestudio, and Milanese department store Larusmiani [13]
