Laabar Baari
Laabar Baari (Script error: The function "langx" does not exist.; Script error: The function "langx" does not exist.) is a village in Myitkyina, Kachin State, Myanmar. The village was originally named Laabar Baari (လာဘော်ဘာရီ) by the local Gurkha community, but it is now commonly known as Kyat Paung Chan. It is situated on the bank of the Irrawaddy River. The name Laabar Baari means "farm of rubber trees" or "land of rubber trees."
The village is home to a diverse population, including Gurkhas, Burmese, Lishu, and Rawan communities. Religious sites in Laabar Baari include two Gurkha Hindu temples, three Burmese Buddhist monasteries, one Gurkha Buddhist monastery, and five churches serving the Lishu and Rawang communities.
Nearby villages include Rampur, Myotitgyi, Khematiri, and Pammatti. Laabar Baari has more than 900 households and a population of over 5,400 people. A post-primary school is located in the center of the village, and a 'Happy Water' bottled water factory is situated beside the Kyat Paung Chan ward office.
