Omolabake Abimbola Adefolahen Akinyosoye[1] (Born 15 October 1974) is a Nigerian Novelist, Screenwriter, poet, physician and film producer.

EARLY LIFE AND EDUCATION

Akinyosoye was born the fifth of six children to Siminade Adetutu Akinyosoye, née Aderemi, a retired personal assistant and Funso Akinyosoye S.A.N. Her mother’s father was the late Ooni of Ife Sir Adesoji Aderemi KCMG. She attended Corona Primary School and attended secondary school at Micklefield School, in Seaford, East Sussex. She and studied Medicine and Surgery at the College of Medicine University of Lagos.

MEDICAL CAREER

Akinyosoye completed her Housemanship at General Hospital Lagos and moved to the United Kingdom to practice,  working as a Senior House Officer at Watford General Hospital,  and as a Locum doctor at the Royal Free and other Hospitals.

WRITING CAREER

Akinyosoye wrote her first screenplay in 2001. She has since written several screenplays and has been writing full time since 2011.  

Her first novel, Flesh and Stone a mystery set in Ife c1907 was published in 2012.

The film Beneficence based on her short story’ Mama o gba’, from the short story collection ‘The Calabash and other stories’.[2]

she has recently wrapped production of the film Lockdown and her next Novel The Captive Of Dreams is due for release in 2018.[3]
