Description

Labidura truncata is a species of striped earwig (Labiduridae). it is noted for its colours, a range of beige, brown, orange, red and black.

Range

Labidura truncata is endemic to Australia; it is found natively in all of its states.

Habitat

Labidura truncata can be found in deserts, and near bodies of fresh and salt water. It prefers sand over dirt, or rocks.

Ecology

When disturbed, this species will arch its abdomen and cerci over its back and charge towards the aggressor in a threat display.
