Labo International Exchange
Labo International Exchange is a Japanese organization specializing in English-language classes and cultural education. The organization began with the title "Labo" in 1962 to teach Japanese businessmen English, and started teaching children in 1966. In 1972, Labo started its first international exchange program with 4-H to Washington and Idaho in the United States with 179 members. The following year, in 1973, the Labo/4-H exchange program was officially instated, and Labo was renamed the Labo International Exchange Foundation, authorized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.[1][2]
In 2017, the Labo International Exchange Foundation received a Foreign Minister's Commendation for its encouragement of cultural understanding between Japan and China.[3]
