Labud "Risto" Gojnić (Serbian: Лабуд Гојнић, Лабуд „Ристо“ Гојнић) was a Montenegrin lawyer, politician and judge, who served as a minister and president of the National Assembly of the Principality of Montenegro from 1907 to 1908.

Biography

First years

He received his primary education in Brčeli, and in 1881 he entered the Cetinje Gymnasium, where he earned four degrees. He graduated from Novi in ​​1889, and in 1893 he graduated from the Belgrade Faculty of Law, returning to Montenegro and being appointed clerk of the Supreme Court. From 1897, he was president of the Virpazar District Court, with the rank of district captain. Labud was also president of the court that resolved the bomb scandal, and in 1908, he was president of the Supreme Court, but was soon removed for political reasons.

From 1905 to 1906, he served as Minister of the Interior in the government of Lazar Mijušković. From 1913 to 1914, he also managed this department in the Government of Janko Vukotić. From 1907 to 1908, he was the President of the National Assembly of Montenegro. Labud was one of the most educated and best lawyers in Montenegro and the author of several laws. From 1905, he was also one of the authors of the first Montenegrin constitution. He was elected a member of the International Academic Society of History in Paris and was awarded the gold medal in 1911, and in 1913, he was elected a member of the Latin Academy of Sciences, Arts and Fiction in Paris. Labud participated in the Balkan Wars, and during World War I was appointed regional governor in Nikšić. In addition to numerous professional works in the field of law, he published literary works.
