Laird Garfield Hindle is currently the Canadian ambassador to Estonia serving at the embassy in Riga.
Career
He joined the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade (Global Affairs Canada) in 1999. At Headquarters, he has served as deputy director in the Development Policy and Institutions Division, the International Assistance Policy Coordination Division and the Eastern and Southern Africa Division. He has also worked in the Non-proliferation and Disarmament Division. He led the preparation of Canada’s first voluntary national review of the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the Sustainable Development Goals. He has also served in Canadian embassies in Nairobi and Tokyo. [1]
