The Lake Sant'Anna is located in the municipality of Vinadio, in the Province of Cuneo, in the upper Sant'Anna valley.
Description
The lake is situated at 2,167 m[1][not in citation given] above sea level and is a completely natural lake, formed due to glacial excavation. Surrounded by rocks typical of gneiss, belonging to the crystalline massif of Monte Argentera, it is located in the Maritime Alps.[citation needed]
The place is heavily frequented due to its proximity to the namesake sanctuary.[2]
Access
After passing the village of Vinadio, continue toward the Col de la Lombarde and Sant'Anna di Vinadio. Once the Sant'Anna Sanctuary is reached, turn left and, after about 500 meters, park in the large square where the itinerary for the Sant'Anna lakes loop begins. At the end of the road accessible by cars, take the only available path and, after about 500 meters, at the fork, turn right following the signs for Passo Tesina. After passing some small lakes, it is possible to reach Lake Sant'Anna.[citation needed]
