Lalon: A Mystic Musical Journey is a docu drama that aims at exploring the 19th Century’s great soul Lalon Sain in his new dimension, lying bare his contributions to world humanity and conveying his humanitarian ideologies of love to all mankind.

Lalon: A Mystic Muscal Journey is directed by “Mystic Lense Production” under the direct supervision of Aftab Alam Zilani, Assistant Director-Lutfullahil Mazid and screen writer-Taki Md Zubayer, Chief Cinematographer-Sujon, Sound & Editor-Kabir Nayan and Production Manager-Mohammad Omar Faruk. With the passage of time, we worked with more than 200 root level Bauls for collecting the depth of Lalon. A thesis team of renowned universities worked for more than 2 years for this project.

Our Advisory Board consists of top-tier experts in the fields of psychology, Academician and Lalon Researcher.  We are fortunate to be guided by an expert, generous volunteers and leaders who are dedicated to helping us realise an impactful documentary such as:

Lalon Sain (1774-17 October 1890)[1] was a Bangladeshi possessing versatile talents who is also known as Fakir Lalon, Lalon Shah, Mahatma Lalon. He was simultaneously a spiritual Sufi Saint, Humanist, Social & Religious reformer and a Philosopher. The Orpheus was a music composer, maestro and singer of a numerous songs. He is appraised one of the pioneers of Baul Songs as well as crowned as “Baul Samrat”. Through his songs, the baul songs became popular and trendy in the nineteenth century. The United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization ( UNESCO) gave recognition to the Baul songs of Bangladesh as the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity through a declaration from its Headquarter in Paris on 27th January 2005[2]. Lalon was a humanistic ascetic who coming away from all discriminations including caste, creed and colour placed humanity on the supreme position. From this very outlook of non-communalism he composed his songs. In every age, his ideologies and songs influenced many prominent poets, litterateurs, philosophers, intellectuals including Rabindranath Tagore, Kazi Nazrul Islam, Walt Whiteman, Alen Ginsberg and so many.

Though his songs were spiritual baul songs but in every ages, these songs of Lalon were voiced by many singers in addition to the baul singers. In the Indian Subcontinent he had been endowed first with the title of ‘Mahatma’(great soul) even 25 years before Gandhi was endowed with.
