Lampalugua

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

The Lampalugua (Lamp-a-lug-oo-a) is a monster of Chilean and Araucanian myth, believed to drink rivers dry, trample crops, and attack and devour cattle and entire villages in a rampage. When not in a rampage, it digs a shallow underground cavern to rest and keep a low body temperature, lurking unseen, until it gets hungry again and reaches land to satisfy it's hunger, with an appetite to match it's size.

Description[edit]

The body of the Lampalugua, slightly larger than a human's, was described to have a dusty red color, much like an anaconda, and because it lives around water, it's likely to have waterproof scaled skin and armored scutes, like a crocodilian. Because the Lampalugua has eyes on the sides of its head, it does not have binocular vision, yet it seems to compensate with raw power. The claws of the Lampalugua are two times the size of the head, and along with its jaws, teeth, and muscular build, the chances of a victim escaping are very slim, an expected guess would be around 0.5%.
