He also has a solo career where he is releasing music from 2014.

Biography

Landon Tewers was born in Ohio, United States on September 27, 1989..[1] He grew up in the city Findlay in Ohio[2], and he currently lives in the city Detroit in Michigan in a house on Lake St. Clair together with his wife.[3]

In 2008, Landon joined the band Before Their Eyes[3], which is founded by Nick Moore[4], as the rhythm guitarist and vocalist. In 2010 Landon created The Plot In You as a side project. In that same year he released the debut EP titled Wife Beater[5]. But shortly after the release of the EP, Landon saw the potential The Plot In You had and chose to leave the band to focus on it.

He released his first solo EP, titled Dead Kid, on March 27, 2014.[6] His first full-length album titled Dynamite was released on December 9, 2016[7] and his second and last album titled Withdrawals was released on July 19, 2019.[8]

Landon has published 17 singles and 6 EP's. His latest release was the single Kill Me (Acoustic) which was published on May 14, 2021.[9] The song is in collaboration with Rory Rodriguez, who is the lead vocalist of the band Dayseeker since 2012.[10]

On August 24, 2018, Landon Tewers married to Madison Rose Tewers.[11][12]

History

Landon doesn't talk about his personal life in public a lot, but in some of the songs he published in his solo career and with The Plot In You, Landon talks about his past life.

His parents are divorced, which he sings about in the song Ma and Pa[13] and tells in an interview that his parents divorced while he was on tour after a marriage of 25 years.[14]. He mentions in an interview from 2021 that he still talks with his mom and that his mom comes to some of the concerts he plays at with The Plot In You. His mother currently lives in Florida[15], says Tewers. In a post on Instagram, on December 26, 2017, he said that he still talks with his dad[16]

Landon met two of the band members of The Plot In You when he played in a band around the age of 14. When The Plot In You became a more serious thing, his friend Ethan joined the band as bassist and their friend Josh joined as guitarist. When the old drummer left the band, a new drummer Cole joined the band. He played in a band with Ethan and is a very good friend of them. Nowadays Michael Cooper plays the drums in the band.[17]

In an interview with Amnplify, an Australian music magazine, he tells that he never took any vocal coaching in his life. He started to get into music and to like singing when he was around 14 years old. He also joined his first band when he was 14 years old. Landon also tells that he lost his voice a lot of times when he was younger, and he believes he "scarred" his voice, because he rarely loses his voice nowadays.[15]

He said in several interviews that he thought a lot about leaving the band in the 12 years existence of the band. But every time he said he wanted to leave the band, his bandmates always tried talking him out of the thought and let him stay in the band.[18]

In the song Findlay, which was released in 2014 on the EP Dead Kid[6], he sings about that he struggled with restless nights. He also sings about that he saw his best friend's dad physically abuse the mom of his best friend. The man noticed that Landon saw everything happen and the father grabbed Landon and told him to never talk to anyone about what happened. This was also the inspiration to name their first EP Wife Beater.[19]

In the song Pillhead, and several other songs, released in 2015 by The Plot In You on the album Happiness In Self Destruction, which he produced almost completely by himself in his home studio, Landon talks about his past addiction and his struggle to stop. He says in the song that he thought using drugs wouldn't change him, but later realized he really was addicted. He also says that he knows he will die early if he keeps going on with it, but isn't bothered by it because he thinks people are better off without him anyway. He also talks about that a lot of people told him he should get clean, which he gets angry about. The people wanted to control him when he didn't want to be controlled, because he thought he knew what he was doing.[20]

On October 1, 2019 he got asked how he handles with not burning himself out. He doesn't really know how to answer that question. He really wants to progress with his solo career, and says that he just needs to not burn himself out. He says it is very mentally daunting and that it gets really tough after a long time. He says he just looks forward to the show, zones out and tries to get through to it.[18]

Many artists had a hard time dealing with the global pandemic Covid-19. Of course Landon didn't have the perfect period either, but he also really enjoyed the time off. In an interview from 2021 with Rock Sound, he says that the sudden break was actually a blessing for him, because the two years before the pandemic they were touring a lot. He also was under a lot of pressure before the pandemic because of this. In the pandemic he had a pretty good time. He spent a lot of time with his wife Madison, and he bought a house in Detroit that is lakeside and also purchased a boat. Although, he is happy that everything is slowly turning back to normal, because he wants to reconnect with his friends and family.[21][3]
