Lane Drug Stores
There have been at least three businesses that have used the name Lane Drug Stores.
Lane Drug Stores, Inc., Atlanta
Lane Drug Stores, Inc. was incorporated in Delaware in October 1928. The company immediately acquired twenty stores in Atlanta, Georgia, sixteen in Jacksonville, Florida, and eleven in Knoxville, Tennessee.[1] Richmond D. Lane was president of the corporation which numbered fifty-six stores in November 1928.[2] The company went into bankruptcy in 1932.[3] The company emerged from bankruptcy and had $13 million in annual sales by 1946 when it was purchased by Rexall. [4][5]
Lane Drug Stores, Lakewood, NJ
Lane Drug Stores was formed in 1960[6] and based in Lakewood, New Jersey. It was acquired by Rite Aid Corporation in September 1989.[7][8]
