Larisa Petronela Borza (born 31 December 1989),[2] known professionally by her stage name Lariss, is a Romanian singer. She rose to prominence after releasing her debut single "Dale Papi" (2014), which was commercially successful on Romanian, Turkish and Eastern European charts.[2] Since then, the singer is part of G Girls along with Inna, Antonia and Lori, a four-part girl band created by her label Global Records.[3] At the Eurovision Song Contest 2010, she was one of the four backing vocalists of Paula Seling and Ovi, Romania's representatives that year. Lariss was honored with Best New Artist at the Media Music Awards 2015.[4]
Life and career[edit]
2014: Career beginnings[edit]
Lariss' debut single, "Dale Papi", was released in November 2014 by Fonogram Records. The song was composed by the singer herself, along production team Midiots Production consisting of Gabi Istrate and David Ciente.[5] "Dale Papi" was a huge success in the Latin world, but also in countries like Turkey and Greece.[citation needed] As of March 2017, its music video amassed over 52 million views on YouTube. The singer's follow-up single "Epana" also reached the top ten in Romania.[citation needed]
