Lars Fæste
Lars Fæste is a Senior Partner and Managing Director at the global management consulting firm The Boston Consulting Group (BCG). Lars is the Global Client Team Chair, and the Global Transformation and BCG TURN Leader. Since 2015, he has been part of the firm’s Executive and Operating Committees.[1] He is based in Copenhagen.
Lars attended the Technical University of Denmark in Copenhagen, from which he graduated as best in his class. He earned a bachelor’s degree in design engineering with a focus on marine/harbor. He then attended Rotterdam School of Management Erasmus in the Netherlands for his MBA and graduated in the top 5% of his class.[2]
Lars has played a pivotal role in contributing to BCG's Transformation practice, a major and fast-growing part of BCG. With more than 750 transformative engagements, BCG has a wealth of experience across all sectors and geographies.[3] Under Lars’s leadership, BCG TURN—a special transformation, turnaround, and restructuring unit—was established.
Before he took on his current role, Lars led the firm's Nordic system—comprising Stockholm, Helsinki, Oslo, and Copenhagen—from 2010 to 2015. Before that, he was for five years the managing partner of BCG’s operations in Finland, Russia, and the Commonwealth of Independent States. He has worked in the firm’s Chicago, Helsinki, Moscow, Copenhagen, and Stockholm offices. Prior to joining BCG, Lars worked at Maersk in Copenhagen and Kiewit Construction in Boston.
Lars is a frequent traveler and worked with clients across more than 20 countries in recent years. Some of the recent events where Lars has participated include the HSM Summit – Leadership & Innovation in Brazil and the International Forum of Sovereign Wealth Funds (IFSWF) in Kazakhstan.
Lars has published articles on transformation and turnaround topics in the MIT Sloan Management Review[4], and other media. Some of his recent co-authored publications are listed below. His talk on transformation can be seen on TED.com.[5]
