Lars H. Bergqvist (born 21 March 1955 in Sävedalen, Sweden) is a subject-matter expert in maritime security, terrorism, piracy, and cybersecurity.
Background
Bergqvist is a member of the editorial board of the International Journal of Maritime Crime and Security,[1] a network expert of The Global Initiative against Transnational Organized Crime[2], a member of The Center for International Maritime Security[3] and an associate member of The Corbett Centre for Maritime Policy Studies[4]. He is a Master Mariner, an officer in The Royal Swedish Naval Reserve and a former United Nations Military Observer, with experience of peacekeeping service in the Middle East and the Balkans.
Education
Academic credentials include a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Economics from the School of Business, Economics and Law at the University of Gothenburg and a Master of Science in Shipping and Maritime Studies from Liverpool John Moores University.[5]

Captain Bergqvist has published articles about maritime security in the Journal of The Royal Swedish Society of Naval Sciences[6][7], The Maritime Executive[8] and The Maritime Security Review[9].
