Charlie Omotunde (born 30 October, 1996), better known by his stage name Cooli Carlito, is a rapper and producer from North West, London.[1] Although he has little to no recognition, the most attention Carlito has received is from working with the cryptocurrency company TradeStrike Ltd., under the provision of Broke Hustler. "Strikecoin" was released in June 2021 and "StrikeX" with HÅLO in February 2022. He received significant attraction for both these songs than all his other songs combined.
Music career[edit]
Cooli Carlito first started his career in 2014, while attending college. He started his music career off by being featured on various pirate radio shows. He released a number of ciphers and freestyles for companies; including Don City Radio, Rinse FM, Tone Coffee Shop and more. During this time, he also had a cameo role as a bike gang member in the film Exhibition starring Tom Hiddleston.[2]
He first gained some fame for his feature on the "898 Show" alongside Scrufizzer and Faithy which was hosted on Don City Radio on 16 November 2016. "898 Show" peaked at 18 in the UK garage chart and 32 in the global garage charts.[3]
The following year Carlito released the single "Neasden Shopping Centre". He went viral for this song after a Twitter user found it funny to see a person making music about the high street of Neasden.[4]
He released the single "Gimme it all" on 14 September 2018.[5] Cooli Carlito was featured on Blatantly Blunt Radio, where he performed a grime freestyle alongside Dirty Doggz, M3 and Mitchell Bailer on 13 June 2019.[6]
Carlito collaborated with Dirty Doggz again on the song "Tha Wind Up Cipher" released in December 2020.[7]
On 18 March 2021, Carlito released his first mixtape titled "Wave God". It was supported by the songs "On Ma Own", "Elevate" and "Ballin Like Neymar" which featured Flirta D.[8] The next month, Carlito provided vocals for the Title Intro for YouTuber "Laxman Reviews". The intro is featured at the beginning of all "Laxman Reviews" videos and was produced by RA.[9]
Despite essentially being an "unknown artist", the most attention Carlito has received is from working with the cryptocurrency solutions company TradeStrike Ltd., under the provision of Broke Hustler. He released the song "Strikecoin" for the company in May 2021 and "StrikeX" with HÅLO in February 2022. He received significant attraction for both these songs than all his other songs combined.[10][11]
