Lathrop & Gage
Lathrop & Gage was a Kansas City, Missouri law firm, operating by that name 1996-2020. The origin of the firm dated to 1873.[1]
History[edit]
The firm opened in 1873 by Gardiner Lathrop and William Smith.[2] In 1876, it began representing the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railroad and continued to handle its current BNSF Railway incarnation in thousands of cases over the years.[3]
In 1996, the firm (then Lathrop & Norquist) merged with Gage & Tucker, which was formed in 1930 by future Kansas City mayor John B. Gage. In January 2020, the firm combined with Gray Plant Mooty to form Lathrop GPM LLP.[4]. The resulting firm was ranked 113th in the United States in head count and 140th in gross revenue.[5]
