Career

Laura Cellier began working as a cub reporter on a local newspaper, The Saffron Walden Weekly News in 1996. Between 1998 and 2001, she worked part time at local TV station Anglia News, while studying at university.

In 2001, Cellier joined Bloomberg's London bureau as a segment producer. She secured interviews with dozens of CEOs, including Phillip Green during his attempted hostile takeover of M&S, the CEOs of Barclays and HSBC, Bodyshop founder Anita Roddick and many others. She also covered several OPEC summits and international car shows, British political conferences, AGMs, etc.

Later, she was promoted to an anchor position, while also serving as a producer, and headline and copywriter for Bloomberg TV's fast paced morning shows.

Cellier relocated to Paris and joined the French state-owned international news channel France24 in 2007[1], where she hosted the evening show 'Live From Paris'. During her time with France24, she interviewed high-profile guests, including Iranian Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi, Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili, Iranian human rights activist Shirin Ebadi, Israeli politician and current foreign minister Yair Lapid, PLO member Hanan Ashrawi, numerous French députés, senators, Generals and others. She led hundreds of hours of live coverage, including the Notre Dame fire, the Charlie Hebdo terror attack, the death of Jacques Chirac, the demonstrations at Tahrir Square, Cairo, the fall of Libyan leader Muammar Gaddaffi, the Euro crisis, the trial of Dominique Strauss Kahn, Prince Philip’s death, the French Presidential elections, and the UK Brexit referendum.

As a reporter, Cellier covered Barack Obama’s re-election in 2012 from Washington.

In 2021 she joined i24NEWS as one of the hosts of Middle East Now[2], a current-affairs show focusing on the day's headlines from the region. The program[3] is hosted alternately by Cellier and Ya'akov Eilon, Sunday to Thursday at 21:00 Israel time, 14:00 EST.

Education

Laura has a degree (BA Hons) in European Studies, Political Science and Government from the University of Essex and Université Jean Moulin, Lyons France

She is a Cambridge CELTA qualified English teacher.

Personal life

She lives in Herzliya, Israel, with her husband and two children.
