Laura Jean Marsh
Laura Jean Marsh (born 23 December 1985) is an English actor and musician. Daughter of Henry Marsh, a member of the 1970s pop group Sailor. She has two brothers, Oliver Marsh and Tom Marsh, who is a drummer and percussionist for Lana Del Rey.
Attended Hayesfield Girls School in Bath and The St Brendan's Sixth Form College, but she left to run off to London to form a band.
Laura became lead singer and songwriter for Screaming Ballerinas.[1], supporting Kaiser Chiefs, Franz Ferdinand, Razorlight, Ash, Hole, The Rakes, The Holloways, The Cribs, The Mighty Boosh, The Noisettes, and The Libertines.
Laura's modelling assignments include the huge billboard in Times Square for T-Mobile and MTV ads, "Less clothes, more music"[2], which saw her walking nude through Brixton.
Laura has appeared in many music videos, including Meyhem – Clement Marfo and the Frontline, Example – Stay Awake, and Storms – Girl.[3]
In addition to being a regular on "Fool Britannia"—a prank show with Dom Joly—and "Tricked," both on ITV, Laura has several acting credits.[4] These include RUSH, directed by Ron Howard; Psycho Bitches for Sky Arts; a schoolgirl in A Touch of Cloth; and a sexy 1960s go-go girl in X-Men: First Class.
Laura's IMDb entry[5] lists her film roles, including Scott and Sid[6] and Cannibals and Carpet Fitters[7] with Jessica-Jane Clement and Alex Zane.
Laura wrote, directed, and had the lead role in Devotion[8], a short film nominated at the Central Florida Film Awards[9], The California Film Awards, Sweet As Film Festival[10], and Stone Fair International Film Awards[11] (Official Selection).
