Laura Kathryn Evans
Laura Kathryn Evans (born September 1965) is an English Conservative Party Politician and businesswoman. Laura Evans, a former Trafford councillor, was selected as the Conservative candidate for the Greater Manchester Mayoral Election in February 2020.[11] Evans served as an Executive Member on Trafford Council, where she received the ‘Employer Supported Policing Award’ for generous changes to officers’ paid leave. Under Evans’ jurisdiction, Special Constables in Trafford were recipients of Council Tax reductions. In 2014, Evans received a Hero's Award for community work from the House of Lords.
She stood as the Conservative Party candidate for Liverpool Walton in the 2017 General Election, and then in the 2019 United Kingdom general election, she stood in Wirral West where she came second to Labour's Margaret Greenwood, achieving 41.2% of the vote.
