Laurette Ponce is a French Accelerator physicist. She is the Antiproton Decelerator (AD) and Extra Low ENergy Antiproton ring (ELENA) operation section leader at CERN (European Organization for Nuclear Research) in Switzerland. She is also known to have been an engineer in charge at the Large Hadron Collider at CERN.[1] [2].
Education
Laurette Ponce received her PhD in 2002 in accelerator physics, at the Grenoble Institute of Technology, in France ("Institut National Polytechnique de Grenoble"). Her doctoral thesis was "Diagnostic with synchrotron radiation of the LHC proton beams"[3] ("Diagnostic par rayonnement synchrotron des faisceaux de protons du LHC")[4].
Professional career
From 2007 to 2018, Ponce was an engineer in charge at the Large Hadron Collider operation, CERN.
From 2018, she is the section leader of the Antiproton Decelerator and Extra Low ENergy Antiproton ring operation[5], CERN.

Ponce gave a talk at the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting of the New Champions in 2012[6], Tianjin, China, entitled "Tiny Particles Big Questions[7]".
In 2014, she was invited to represent CERN at the United Nations, Geneva, Switzerland, for a meeting on gender equality[8], on the occasion of the 60th CERN anniversary[9]
In April 2009, Ponce received Cédric Klapisch and his colleague Alexis Galmot at CERN to scout out possible locations for a forthcoming fiction-science film based on Boris Vian’s novel about the duality between the good and bad uses of science.[10]
In 2008, Ponce’s voice extracted from an interview is used in a music track from Robert Henke [11][12]
Social life
Since 2018 Laurette Ponce is the president of the local music school "École de musique de Chevry-Crozet-Echenevex"[13]
