Buck Simmons Memorial[edit]
Dirt Super Late Model driver Buck Simmons passed away in late-2012 leaving behind a very long lasting legacy. Ever since they've held a Dirt Super Late Model race annually with various organizations, currently the Carolina Clash Series holds the rights to the event. Originally the event was held at neighboring track Toccoa Raceway in 2012 and 2013 but in 2014 it moved to Lavonia where it has stayed ever since.[7]
Casey Roberts and Zack Mitchell are tied with the most wins in the race at 3 wins from 2012 to 2014 for Roberts and 3 wins in 2019, 2021, and 2022 for Mitchell respectively. Longhorn Chassis holds the most wins by manufacturer in the race at 4, the only other time another chassis manufacturer to win the race was a Capital in 2012 and 2013, a Barry Wright in 2021, and a Double Nickel in 2023.[8][citation needed]
