Layoners is a Slovenian fashion brand and online retail store based in Mengeš. In 2018 they launched their first collection of eyewear. In 2019 they added women's swimwear to their collection.
History
The brand was founded in 2018 by Simon Terbovšek, CEO of DFVU. Layoners inherited eyewear collections from the RedLynx brand and added new sunglasses to its store. In their first year they sold over 10,000 sunglasses. In 2019 their sales rose to over 50,000 sunglasses sold, mainly in central and eastern Europe.
Products
Most of the eyewear model designs are based on current trends in sunglasses and the fashion industry, as well as other competitors, such as Hawkers or Meller. Most of them come with polarized lenses and 100% UV protection. Materials used for frames are wood, aluminium, alloy and plastic.
Business model
While Layoners follows the business model of several other competitors in the eyewear market, they also introduced a model with single unrelated landing pages for sunglasses on sale. They are also using an influencer marketing strategy, mainly with influencers and fashion bloggers from southeastern Europe.[1]. In 2019 they sponsored the biggest outdoor skateboarding event in Slovenia, Rolka[2]
