LeTip International (LeTip) is a business leads and business networking organization in the United States and Canada. Founded in 1979, it is the oldest business networking organization in the United States.
History
LeTip International was founded in 1978 and officially incorporated by the State of California in 1979.[1]. It is the first organization to be recorded in the United States with Business Networking as the center point of its business model.
The company first experienced growth in the 1980s when business lead generation started focusing on networking[2] and continued to grow into an international organization.
Expansion
Each location is highly local and operates within the county or city in which it is located. As business networking grew, so did the company. In order to reach businesses across multiple regions, LeTip needed to establish new locations.
- In 1988 LeTip began to establish new locations in other states in the U.S., starting with Arizona[3].
- In 1995 LeTip continued to establish locations in Canada[4][5].
- In 2019 LeTip added a department for franchises and start-up franchises with LeTip World[6]
Structure and Operations
Structure
While LeTip does have a headquarters, the majority of operations take place in more than 250 locations across the U.S. and Canada[7]. While being an employee or employer is required for national or international operations, only membership is required to take part in local operations.
Each location, excluding the headquarters, is called a chapter. Chapter Leaders help manage national and international operations. The sets of teams include an Executive Team, a Corporate Team, a Recruitment Team, and a Support Team. Each team is responsible for a different set of operations.
Operations
Each location, excluding the headquarters, holds Chapter meetings every week where members are required to contribute. Chapter meetings function as a dedicated time and place where local business owners can meet other local business owners who are looking to network. Within a single location there is at maximum one business owner from a particular industry at a time. During meetings, each member will give a 30-second presentation, and one weekly rotating member will give a 10-minute presentation. Chapter locations can be held in different locations, such as members’ workplaces or a local café, depending on the members’ locations and workplaces. The locations will remain local to that county or city.
