Le Le (panda)
Le Le (Simplified Chinese: 叻叻, born 14 August 2021[1]）is the first giant panda born in Singapore.

Life
Le Le was born on 14 August 2021 in Singapore's River Wonders zoo, part of Mandai Wildlife Group to parents Kai Kai and Jia Jia. He was conceived via artificial insemination when natural mating proved unsuccessful. Le Le's name, taken from "Shi Le Po" (Chinese: 石叻坡, an archaic term for Singapore) was chosen by public vote. The birth was welcomed by many, and visitors would line up to visit him. Le Le was also used in marketing[2] by brands like Hello Panda in Singapore, Foodpanda and CapitaLand[3]. He shared an enclosure with his mother before reaching 2 years old, when he would subsequently be flown to China as part of ongoing panda diplomacy.[4]
On 16 January 2024, Le Le was sent to China on a Singapore Airlines flight[5] and was quarantined at the Huaying Mountain base for 4 weeks[6].
