From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Lead Children (Polish: Ołowiane dzieci) is a six-part Polish television miniseries directed by Maciej Pieprzyca in 2026.

The miniseries is based on the true story of Jolanta Wadowska-Król, who revealed to the public widespread cases of lead poisoning among children living in areas adjacent to the Szopienice Non-Ferrous Metal Smelter, responsible for processing lead and zinc.

Synopsis

In the 1970s, Jolanta Wadowska-Król was a pediatrician who arrived in the Katowice region of Upper Silesia, where she quickly noticed the dramatic consequences of local industrial activity. The children she treated were suffering from severe lead poisoning, and refusing to remain silent, Jolanta fought to expose the situation, confronting both the local population, who wanted to continue working, and the authorities of the People's Republic of Poland.
