Leadhills Golf Club is a golf course located in Leadhills, South Lanarkshire, Scotland.[1][2][3]
History[edit]
The club was founded in 1935. An exhibition game was played as part of the opening ceremony, players included Walker Cup player Leonard Crawley.[4]
The clubhouse was upgraded in 2013.[5][6]
Course[edit]
It is Scotland's highest golf course at 1,500 feet (460 m) above sea level.[7][8][9][10][11][12][13][14][15][16]
Members[edit]
In 2011, Leadhills Golf Club players Jaq Tennant and Bryce Kane starred with Colin Montgomerie at the final of Monty’s Monthly Medal at The Carrick Golf Course on Loch Lomond. The pair struck their tee shots closer to the hole than Monty in the Par 3 Challenge, with Craig Shand finishing second in the 18-hole competition and Jaq third also on 33 points.[17][18]
Footgolf[edit]
As of 2020, visitors can also play footgolf on the course.[19]
