Leandro Noce (13 June, 1929-25 May, 1999)[1] was an Italian Politician and Educator, having been the contributing Mayor of the town of Celico[2]. A member of the Italian Communist Party, he was described as having a forward-thinking vision for the town's growth and development, inspiring confidence and direction.[3]
Life
Noce was born on 13 June, 1929 in Celico. He married Antonnietta Noce (née Perri)[4] (1 July, 1933-1 December, 2022) [5]. Noce was active in local politics and mentioned in many newspaper publications since the 1970s and 80s. Noce's great-nephew is an outspoken supporter Socialism on his YouTube channel Dzod500.[6]
Mayor
Despite records being few and far between, it is known that Noce oversaw the establishment of the first family counseling centre in Calabria. He oversaw the construction of a building specifically designed to house this centre. Noce was a delegate for the municipality of Celico and a member of the Italian Communist Party (PCI) within the Comunità Montana Silana (Sila mountain community), signalling his involvement in regional affairs.
