Leap (band)

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Leap (stylized in all uppercase) is a British indie rock band from London, formed in 2021. The four-piece—fronted by Jack Balfour Scott—blends gritty guitar riffs, hard-hitting percussion, electronica, and emotionally honest lyrics exploring mental health and modern anxiety.

History

LEAP emerged in 2021 after frontman Jack Balfour Scott, previously of Capitol Records-signed The Mispers, partnered with drummer Hector Cottam, bassist Declan "BullsEye" Brown, and guitarist Adam Mason.[1]

Their debut EP, 1 Million Pieces (2022), received positive reviews for its anthemic quality and emotional depth.[2]

In late 2023, the band released a second EP, Dark Habits. The track "Exit Signs" gained over 50,000 Shazams in two months and helped them surpass four million total streams.[3]

Music and themes

LEAP mixes indie grunge, alt-pop, and electronic elements, often reflecting Scott's personal experiences with bipolar disorder and addiction.[4][5]

Tours

Since 2022, LEAP has toured extensively across the UK and Europe, playing festivals such as Nova Rock and WDR Rockpalast and selling over 30,000 tickets.[6]

Their "One Way Out" tour in 2024 included sold-out dates in cities like Munich, Hamburg, and Frankfurt.[7]

Recent Activity

In June 2025, LEAP announced their debut album, Entropy, due on 3 October 2025. The lead single, "Sinking Feeling", focuses on dread and modern anxiety while capturing the band's energetic live style.[8]

The band has received attention from BBC Radio 6, MTV, Rolling Stone, Earmilk, Virgin Radio, Flux FM, Amazing Radio, and BBC Introducing.[9]
