The Lebanon Local is a monthly newspaper serving Lebanon, Oregon, United States. The paper is owned by locals Scott and Miriam Swanson. It is published mid-month, generally following the school board meetings, and focuses on news and articles of interest specifically for the Lebanon community.
Its sister paper, The New Era, is a weekly paper founded in 1929 serving Sweet Home, OR.
Founding and ownership[edit]
Prior to the founding of the Lebanon Local,[1] the city was receiving area news from Lebanon Express, a weekly paper owned by Lee Enterprises. Scott and Miriam Swanson bought the Sweet Home New Era paper in 2005,[3] and started the Lebanon Local in 2016 to provide more thorough coverage of the city.
