Scott Academy, also referred to as Scott Preparatory School, opened in Opelika, Alabama in 1970.[2]
On October 26, 1981, at a special meeting of the voting members of Scott Academy, the agreement of merger between Scott Academy and Lee Academy was approved by a vote of 57 to 16.[4]
