Lee Hyun-Seo (Hangul: 이현서;; Gapyeong-gun, South Korea, 21 February 2007), known by the mononym Leeseo, is a singer from South Korea. She was part of SM Kids as a child model, currently a member of the group Ive of the company Starship Entertainment and Kakao Entertainment.
Early years
Hyunseo was born on February 21, 2007. She attended School of Performing Arts Seoul, and grew up in Seoul, South Korea, with her family, consisting of her parents and a younger sister. During her childhood, she was a child model for SM Kids.[1]
Predebut
On November 1, Starship Entertainment officially opened their new girl group's social media [2] under the name Ive. On November 7, 2021, Leeseo was introduced as the sixth and final member of Ive. [3] On November 8, Starship Entertainment announced that she would debut on December 1, 2021.
Career and individual activities
November–December 2021: Debut with Ive
On December 1, 2021, Leeseo debuted with Yujin, Rei, Wonyoung, Gaeul, and Liz in Ive with their first single album “Eleven”, [4] and the title track, titled with the same name as the album, “Eleven”. Leeseo debuted in Ive at 14 years old internationally and 15 years old in South Korea. [5] She ranked #10 in the Brand Reputation Ranking for Girl Group Members for the month of December, 2021, less than a month after debuting.
June 2022: Blue & Black
On June 6, 2022, it was announced that members of Ive, Oh My Girl and Cravity would be collaborating for a digital single to be released as part of the ongoing collaboration project from Starship Entertainment with Pepsi. [6] That same day, the members of said groups who would be participating were revealed, including Leeseo and Wonyoung. [7] The collaborative single, titled "Blue & Black", was released on June 28.
