Lee Waite

Lee Waite is an American stock trader and corporate executive who formerly served as the chief executive officer and president of Citigroup Holdings, Japan.[1]

Education

He received his M.B.A. from Duke University's Fuqua School of Business.[2]

Business career

After graduating from Duke, he joined E.F. Hutton in capital markets trading.[3] His career continued through various mergers including Shearson Lehman Hutton and Salomon Brothers, and eventually Citi.[4] In 2007, he moved into transaction services, and eventually served as chief operating officer of Citi's Equities Division, before being appointed head of North American Markets and Securities. In 2018, Waite was appointed Country Officer and CEO of Citigroup Japan,[5] and in 2022 he was replaced by Marc Luet.[6] As of 2023, Waite remains with Citigroup.[4]
