Leeland Daniel Murnane (born December 31, 2009), known professionally as Leeland Daniel, is an American singer, songwriter, and record producer from Indianapolis, Indiana. He initially gained recognition under his former stage name, GoldenCraftr, before transitioning to his current moniker.[1]

Early life and career beginnings

Leeland Daniel Murnane was born on December 31, 2009, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He grew up in Indianapolis, Indiana. His interest in music developed at a young age; he began experimenting with music production on GarageBand at four years old, even if the results were, as he describes, "horrible."[1] He officially launched his professional music career at the age of 12.[1]

Daniel began releasing music under the alias GoldenCraftr. His debut single, "Love You," was released on November 11, 2022, and was co-written with producer and artist Stephen Flickner. Daniel has described "Love You" as his "first official song." Following this, he released his debut extended play (EP), Messing with my Feelings, which included "Love You," "Can't Love You" (featuring Stephen Flickner), and "Without You."[1] Additional releases under the GoldenCraftr alias included the singles "You Don't Care" (2024) and "Be with You" (2023), and a "Deluxe Edition" of his Love You EP, featuring instrumental and re-recorded versions, as well as a remix featuring CR3.[1]

Transition to Leeland Daniel

In February 2025, Daniel announced his decision to retire the "GoldenCraftr" alias and begin releasing music under his given name, Leeland Daniel. He communicated this change via his public Snapchat story, explaining his desire for a fresh start. He specified that only his then-newest song, "falling," would be carried over to his new artist profiles, marking the formal discontinuation of the GoldenCraftr project.[1]

Musical style and influences

Leeland Daniel's music primarily blends elements of pop and R&B. He has cited prominent artists such as Charlie Puth and Meghan Trainor as significant influences on his work.[1] He has specifically mentioned Puth's album Voicenotes and Trainor's Title (Deluxe Edition) as favorite albums.[1]

Record label

Leeland Daniel operates under his self-owned label, LmDaniel Music, which is licensed through Murnane Records. Murnane Records is a division of Murnane Music Group, a company he co-founded with Marc Murnane.[1]
