Leonardo Maria Del Vecchio (born May 6, 1995), is an Italian businessman and is the son of Leonardo Del Vecchio, the founder and president of Luxottica.[1]

Biography[edit]

Leonardo Maria Del Vecchio was born in Milan, Italy on May 6, 1995. He is the son of Italian billionaire Leonardo Del Vecchio and Nicoletta Zampillo.[2] He is also the half-brother of Claudio Del Vecchio (who owns Brooks Brothers).[3]

Del Vecchio attended schools in the U.S. and the United Kingdom as an exchange student, and graduated from Bocconi University with a degree in Business Economics and Management.[4] He then went on to work for his father’s company, Luxottica, in 2017, and is the only son working for the company.[3] He is now the Head of Retail Italy at the Luxottica Group, which includes being the CEO of Italian fashion brand Salmoiraghi & Viganò as well as leading Sunglass Hut (in Italy).[4][5] He currently leads the opening of Ray-Ban and Persol flagship stores in Italy, including those in Milan, Rome, and Verona.[3][4] Del Vecchio was a speaker at the 2019 Retail Executive Summit at Villa d’Este, Cernobbio, Italy.[6]
