Biography
Lewis Hilsenteger (Unbox Therapy or Lew) is a Canadian creator on Youtube. He attended the Toronto School of Art and is the founder of his UnboxTherapy company. Lewis was the president of a company called !Upgrade which made revenue in the Apple product domain.[1]
The primary precipitate for his popularity was his channel's uploads regarding the iPhone 6 Plus and Bendgate. In his over 70 million played times video, he clearly shows the limits of the devices structural capabilities.[2][3][4] This video and other Apple related content was and continues to be a driving force in growing his channel's user base.
Lewis appeared on the Joe Rogan Experience in 2016. [5]
UnboxTherapy [6], run by Lewis, launched in 2011, which has now become iconic for the template that nearly every video follows and is ranked under 200,000 on Crunchbase. This entails taking the product out of its packaging while providing his thoughts to his viewers.
The channel mainly operates in the domain of quirky tech or other random, idiosyncratic products on the market. Although he often does not recommend the products, the topic of the channel is not merely for product reviews. Instead, his content is geared toward entertainment for his nearly 15 million subscribers (over 13 million).[7]
He frequently posts on his Instagram account, mainly pictures of new phones (though sometimes knives). He uses Twitter to share quick content usually in a video format shorter than his Youtube content.

He has a song on Spotify named "Fanboy Rap".[10] His unboxing style of content may also have scientific backing.[11]

Jack & Team Crispy
His main channel features a character named Jack, who may or may not be real. Lewis often 'talks' to Jack in his videos, but it was commonly accepted among his viewers that Jack does not actually exist. Many attempts have been made by users to prove Jack's existence.
However, in February 2018, a video entitled Jack was uploaded, seemingly informing the user-base of Jack's existence. Still, he remains a core part of the Unbox Therapy channel.[12]
Lewis Hilsenteger is an informal member of a youtube group known as "Team Crispy". They pride themselves on being "pixel-perfect" This group may also include Marques Brownlee, Jonathan Morrison, and Austin Evans. These YouTubers frequently make collaborative videos with each other.
Early Career
Lewis' first business interest was a company based in Toronto called ¡Upgrade that dealt in servicing and repair for computers. To aid customers, he began to upload tutorial videos to Youtube. This eventually lead to the creation of his Unbox Therapy channel.[13]
