The Lewiston, Maine City Council is the legislative branch of government for the city of Lewiston, Maine. It is an eight seat council, composed of representatives from the city's seven wards and the part-time elected Mayor of Lewiston. The seven councilors are elected for two-year terms without term limits, while the Mayor is elected for a maximum of three consecutive two-year terms.

The Council is officially non-partisan, though councilors are often known for their political party affiliation.

The Lewiston City Council meets at Lewiston City Hall, a historic 1892 building on the corner of Pine and Park Streets.

Mayor (at-large): Shane Bouchard[edit]

Shane Bouchard is a former city councilor. He was elected mayor in 2017, succeeding Robert E. Macdonald. Bouchard resigned from office on March 8,2019 and was succeeded by Council President Kristen Cloutier. Mayor Cloutier will serve until the term is complete, January 7, 2020. [1][2]

Ward 1: James Lysen[edit]

James Lysen was elected in 2015 to represent Ward 1. He was reelected in 2017.

Ward 2: Zachary Pettengill[edit]

Zachary Pettengill was elected in 2017 to represent Ward 2.

Ward 3: Alicia Rea[edit]

Alicia Rea works in the Bates College Office of College Advancement. She was elected in 2017 to represent Ward 3, replacing Isobel Golden.

Ward 4: Michel A. Lajoie[edit]

Michel A. Lajoie is a former fire chief and state legislator. He was elected in 2017 to represent Ward 4.

Ward 5: Kristen Cloutier[edit]

Kristen Cloutier works in the Bates College Harward Center. She was elected in 2013 to represent Ward 5. Cloutier was reelected in 2015 and 2017. In 2018, she announced her candidacy for the Maine House of Representatives to replace Jared Golden.

Ward 6: Joline Landry Beam[edit]

Joline Landry Beam is a former state legislator first elected to the city council in 2015 to represent Ward 6. She was reelected in 2017.

Ward 7: Michael J. Marcotte[edit]

Michael J. Marcotte was elected in 2017 to represent Ward 7.
