Lex Lüpke

Lex Lüpke (Alexander Lüpke, born May 9th, 1980 in Hofheim, Germany) is a German evangelist entrepreneur, game designer, gaming consultant, developer and entertainer. In 2016, he launched his newly established escape room, the „Nexus Exit“[1] in Gelnhausen, Germany. Aside from developing video games and events for the gaming industry, Lüpke also invented several board- and card games.

Career[edit]

Alexander “Lex” Lüpke was born on May 9, 1980 in Hofheim, Germany. His mother was a Bulgarian gallery owner and his father a German lecturer. He had a sister named Sofia. Lex is married to Jana Lüpke, a German author, Gamemaster and tutor. In 2010, their daughter Lila was born.

In 2000, Lex completed his high school education (Fachabitur) at the LGS Hanau with a major in Data Technology. He then joined the German University “RheinMain University of Applied Sciences” in Rüsselsheim to study Technology of television and Electronic Media, before becoming an apprentice at Createc Frankfurt/Bad Vilbel (Germany) to study Event Technology.

As a start of his entrepreneurship, Lex founded Engage Entertainment in 2004, acting as CEO, event manager and advertiser. In 2007, Lex enrolled into the Games Academy’s apprenticeship program and became a Game Designer and Interactive Media Designer in 2009. In 2009, he started working as an independent gaming tutor, game producer, game designer and project manager, contracting with Games Academy, Paradigm, Trapdoor/GA Labs, Twisted Bytes, Ed Venture Studios, VisionaryX, Nevigo, Blaquadrat and Macromedia. Furthermore, Lex was leading developer of the concept of Gamification of learning.

In 2016, Lüpke founded, developed and launched the „Nexus Exit[2] [3] “, a live escape room in Gelnhausen, Germany. In 2012, Lex earned the Innovation Award. [4][5] [6] [7] [8] [9][10] [11] [12][13][14] [15]
