The Lexique informatisé des mots insolites à étymologie latine, commonly called LiMiEL, is a French-language dictionary of rare and newly created words whose etymology comes from Latin.[1] It is an independent, non-profit linguistic project that publishes lexicographic data under an open ODC-By license,[2] allowing their use, copying, redistribution, modification, and the creation of derivative works, provided the source is credited.[3] This neology project uses Omeka, a free software for managing digital libraries,[4] to organize and collect its lexicon. LiMiEL is notable for creating its own neologisms based on Latin. It was created in 2025 and it is in constant expansion.
