Liat Benasuli (born in Nathanya 1974) is an Israeli producer and TV creator[1].

In 2016 she established "L. Benasuli Productions", producing the hit Israeli TV show “Fauda”, “Messiah ”, “What Is This Nonsense?” and many more.

Benasuli studied in the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. In 2000 she started working at “Parelite” a production company owned by producer Uri Sabag, and her TV production career began. She worked as a production coordinator on the reality show “The Mole” and in the feature movie “Beitar Provence”. From there she continued on an independent path as a producer on the feature films “Aviva My Love” directed by Shemi Zarhin, “The Secrets” by Avi Nesher and many others. She also produces the TV series “Mesudarim”.

Prisoners of War (Hatufim) 2010[edit]

An Israeli drama series broadcasted by “Keshet Media group” on channel 2 in Israel. The series showcases the story of two Israeli soldiers who was kidnapped to Syria and coming back home after 17 years. The series won “Best Drama Series for 2010” by The Israeli Academy for Film and Television.

In 2009, the production rights for the show were purchased by the american TV network FOX. The american version of “Prisoners of War ” first premiered on “SHOWTIME” under the name “Homeland[2]” in October 2011. The american version won two best TV Drama Golden Globe awards - in 2011 and 2012 The leading female actress of the show Claire Danes also won “Best Actress In A Drama Series” award the same years for her role in “Homeland”. The leading male actor Damian Lewis won “Best Actor In A Drama Series” in 2012.

The production rights to the show was also purchased by the Russian production company “WeitMedia”, the Turkish production company “Medyapim”, and Mexican production company “Televisa”.

The Parliament (2012)[edit]

And israeli sitcom broadcasted by “Keshet Media Group” on Channel 2 in Israel since 2012. The sitcom is a spin-off of “Eretz Nehederet”, based on the characters from the sketch “Shauli’s Parliament” from the 8th season of the show. In the sketch are a group of middle age men seating in a coffee shop and talking. The sitcom expanded the sketch and followed the lives of the characters outside of the coffee shop interacting with new characters while the original cast remain the same. “The Parlament” won “Best Comedy for 2013-2014” by The Israeli Academi for Film and Television.

False Flag (2015)[edit]

An Israeli Action - Drama broadcasted by "Keshet Media Group" on Channel 2 in Israel. The series is about 5 Israeli civilians surprisingly finding themselves in the middle of a spy scandal. They wake up one day and discover that their names were tied to a dramatic kidnapping operation, related to the “Mossad”. The first chapter premiered in 2015 at The Berlin International Film Festival and gained a lot of success when the original version of the show was purchased by the French channel CANNAL+, and before it was even fully written it was sold to FOX international broadcasting channels[3] and to 128 countries around the world.

FAUDA (2015)[edit]

An Israeli action drama, broadcasted on the Israeli cable channel “Yes Oh”. The series showcases the story of Doron (Lior Raz), operating inside Palestinian territories, and his team, are hunting down Hamas terrorist Abu-Ahmed. The series won the “Best Israeli Drama series” award by the The Israeli Academy for Film and Television, in 2016 and In December 2017, The New York Times voted Fauda the best international show of 2017[4]. In November 2016 the series was purchased by “Netflix”. and from January 2017 is broadcasted on the Israeli Channel “Kan” (11)
