Lifeplus is an American multinational company of beauty and health products. It is headquartered in Batesville, Arkansas.[2]
Lifeplus has two main locations: Lifeplus International with the US-office and main production facility in Batesville, and Lifeplus Europe Ltd. in Cambridgeshire (UK).[3][4] The company is active worldwide.[5]
Together with Wahoo Fitness, Lifeplus is the sponsor of the British UCI women's cycling team Lifeplus–Wahoo.[6]
History[edit]
Lifeplus was founded in the US in 1992 by former pharmacist Bob Lemon.[2] Lifeplus Europe Ltd. was founded in 1996 in the United Kingdom.[2] In 2001, the Lifeplus Foundation was established, which supports individual municipal projects for access to resources that enable a healthy life, such as clean drinking water or sanitary facilities.[7]
In 2013, Lifeplus Italia s.r.l. was founded in Italy as a wholly owned subsidiary of Lifeplus Europe.[8] On October 20, 2016, Lifeplus Europe inaugurated a new logistics hall in the UK.[8]
Lifeplus organizes events, such as the conference at Messe Stuttgart (Germany) in 2017 or the "Wellbeing For Life Festival" in Munich (Germany), held for the first time in June 2022.[9] In 2022, Lifeplus began constructing four new buildings in Batesville.[1]
The American parent company employs 250 people.[1] In 2014, the European subsidiary Lifeplus Europe generated GBP 175.8 million.[10] Its central warehouse is located in St Neots near London, UK, where around 250 employees work.[8] Including the employees in the UK, Lifeplus has 350 employees in Europe.[1]
Lifeplus uses a multi-level marketing distribution model.[11][9] Some of their products are listed on the "Kölner Liste" (Cologne list), which is an indicator that they were tested negative for any doping substances.[5]
