Lil Mo Mozzarella or MO Mozzarella (whose real name is Mark Brucato.[1]) is a Brooklyn, NY based social media internet personality, Internet celebrity[2] and comedian[3] who runs a popular Instagram and TikTok[4] page under the name @lilmomozzarella. Brucato is primarily known for his high energy 60 second comical food critic review videos of small businesses.
Early Life
Mark Brucato is Italian American and was born in Brooklyn, New York and raised in Queens, New York.
Brucato left school at the age of 15 and went on to work as an apprentice in his father's HVAC family business. Brucato established his own business at the age of 17 and later pursued a degree in mechanical engineering.
Growing up, Brucato was exposed to New York's creative culture and became a connoisseur of local art, music, cinema and literature, which inspired him to write, do improv and draw graffiti.
Career
Brucato is childhood friends with the artist Lionel Du Fon Pickens, better known by his stage name Chinx and French Montana and appeared on the intro of their song "Money Bags"[5] from their album Coke boys 4 Produced by Harry Fraud.
One of Brucato's videos went viral after he took advice from Montana to bet on Tom Brady and The Buccaneers to win the Super Bowl.[6].
He is also featured on Frank B & The Truth's[7] Debut Album ‘Badfellas’[8][9].
When the pandemic occurred in 2020, Brucato created social media accounts under the alias Lil Mo Mozzarella. With the impact of Covid-19, Brucato made it his mission to help small businesses[10]. He began videoing his visits to restaurants, bakeries and delis[11] and featuring them on his platform to help lift the small businesses up.[12]. Brucato visited over 150 small business locations during this time period and his food reviews gained popularity when Barstool Sports posted his video and it went viral.
Brucato is a recurring character on Sidetalknyc.com[13] a popular video series created by Jack Byrne and Trent Simonian[14].
Brucato has also appeared on Access Daily Episode: S11:E87 (Air Date:2/1/2021) as a Special Guest under Lil Mo Mozzarella.[15] during the episode he reveals his favorite New York restaurants. Brucato is also part of Amazon (company)'s influencer program.[16].
