Linda Dounia
Biography
Linda Dounia Rebeiz, also known as Linda Dounia, is an interdisciplinary designer, author, and mixed-media artist from Lebanon and Dakar.[1] born March 18th, year unknown[2]. Dounia is known for incorporating AI into her artwork with AI. Linda is a self-taught artist. She has a background in design, and now she combines artwork with technology. Linda's work has been shown at Art Basel Miami, the Dakar Biennale, Artsy NFT, Art X Lagos, Digital Art Fair Asia, and Art Dubai, among other places.
Career
Dounia is known for incorporating AI into her artwork with AI. Linda's platform is used to promote awareness about deconstructing artwork and to create spaces where minority creators can be seen and have agency over their work. Linda created Cyber Baat in 2021, a group of African artists seeking to change how African art is regarded and valued in the digital art sphere.
Linda is now in the world of NFT. Linda wants to talk about inequities in cryptocurrencies and artwork. So far, the depiction of women in the NFT world appears to follow a similar disturbing path as the representation of women in the traditional art world.[3] "About 5 percent of women make up the NFT art space, and according to The Times, works by women make up just 7 percent of art in top galleries. I think we have a window of opportunity in the NFT space to learn from the traditional art world’s mistakes and change this early trend[3]." Linda has over 200 NFTs in her collection.
Personal Life
Linda now splits her time between The Bay in San Francisco, Ghana, and Senegal. She is the curator at superrare, which is CryptoArt market's future—a network run by artists, collectors, and curators[4]
