Linda Wolfe (born Linda Lou Taylor; July 31, 1940 – December 27, 2009) was an American woman best known for holding the record for the most monogamous marriages by a woman. She was married a total of 23 times and was recognized by Guinness World Records for this distinction.

Early life

Details about Wolfe’s early life and upbringing are limited in publicly available sources.

Marriages

Wolfe married for the first time in 1957[1] at the age of 16. Over the following four decades, she entered into 23 legally recognized, monogamous marriages. Her marriages varied widely in length, ranging from several years to as little as approximately 36 hours.

Wolfe stated in interviews that she never committed adultery during any of her marriages and described herself as being strongly attached to the romance and ceremony of marriage.

Her final marriage, in 1996, was to Glynn DeMoss Wolfe, who held the male record for the most monogamous marriages.[2]

Personal life

Wolfe was the mother of seven children and was a stepmother to additional children through her marriages. Despite her public notoriety, she generally kept her family life private.

Later life

In her later years, Wolfe lived in a retirement facility in Indiana and remained a subject of public interest due to her record.

Death

Linda Wolfe died on December 27, 2009, at the age of 69.
