Metro 8 of the Mumbai Metro is part of the metro system for the city of Mumbai, India. The 40 km (25 mi) line is fully elevated. Metro 8 will be between the two international airports -- Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport (CSIA) in Santacruz and proposed Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA) in Ulwe. Currently 8 Metro Station have been proposed on this line with a frequency of 15 minutes. According to officials from the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA), the implementing agency for most Metros in the city, the frequency and the number of stations have been decided keeping the speed of the Metro in mind. The airport corridor is likely to run at a speed of 90 km an hour, higher compared to the other Metros that are being planned at a speed of 30 km an hour.
