Linearity Curve
Linearity Curve (formerly known as Vectornator) is a vector graphic design application developed by Linearity, a company based in Berlin, Germany. The application is designed for macOS, iPadOS, and iOS, providing vector editing tools for designers, illustrators, and marketing professionals.[1] As of 2024, it has 11million downloads in the App Store.[2]
History
The application was originally launched in 2017 under the name Vectornator. Over time, it gained popularity for its intuitive user interface and powerful design capabilities. In 2021 it raised $20 million.[3] In 2023, the company rebranded the application as Linearity Curve.[4][5]
Features
Linearity Curve provides conventional Bézier-based drawing tools, typography controls and layer management. A built-in “Auto Trace” function converts raster images to vector paths, and the software can import or export SVG, PDF and AI files.[6] The user interface is optimised for touch and supports Apple Pencil on iPad.
Platforms and licensing
The editor runs on macOS 12 or later, iPadOS 15 or later and iOS 15 or later. The base application is free; cloud collaboration and certain template libraries are offered through an optional subscription.[7]
Reception
Vectornator was a finalist in the Interaction category of the 2022 Apple Design Awards.[8]
Linearity Curve has adopton in the design community, primarily for its ease of use[9] It has been featured in Apple's App Store and received positive reviews from design professionals and tech publications.[10]
