Linora Low

Linora Low Yin Foong (simplified Chinese, 低音喔, born 17 October 1984) is a Chinese Malaysian radio host, actress, television personality and bodybuilder based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. She was born in Selangor, Malaysia. Low started her entertainment career in theatre, where she worked on a couple of projects with KLPAC and the Christian Drama group The FootStool Players. She started her radio career at the local Malaysian radio station Red FM, then she moved to Mix.my and currently she has her own show on AFORadio called Live Love Lift. Low is also a versatile emcee, known to host a number of sporting events such as the Standard Chartered Kuala Lumpur Marathon, The Color Run Malaysia and Test of Will by Under Armour. She is an Under Armour Malaysian ambassador and Optimum Nutrition Ambassador. Recently venturing into the sport of bodybuilding, She won 3rd Place at the WFF Asia Pacific Championship.


Personal Life[edit]

Of Chinese heritage; both parents being Chinese Malaysian, Low is the eldest out of three children in her family.

Low studied at the private education body Sri Utama Schools for her primary and secondary years. Low holds a degree in Communications from Monash University. She originally wanted to pursue acting but at that time, there were no thespian classes in Malaysia.

A huge fan for the entertainment scene, she started taking part story telling competition and public speaking at a young age. She was the head prefect at her school and the first student in SSU to receive the Deans awards twice.

Career in Radio[edit]

Low began her radio career when she got 1st runner up for a radio contest called Rudy's Recruit by Red FM. She got hired by the station in the year 2011 where she hosted the Late Night Love Songs (9pm-12am) slot, then she was moved to the afternoon slot called the Red Hub (10am-3pm).

She then made the jump to Astro's radio station Mix Fm, where she hosted the brunch show 10am-1pm the Mix Blitz. She was on contract for 4 years and before finally deciding to make a move.[1]

Currently she hosts her own show on AFO Radio called Live Love Lift 2pm-4pm every Tuesday.

Career in Hosting[edit]

Low began her hosting/emceeing career in humble beginnings at a small Book Event. She acquired more experience over the years and especially during her days on radio. She is a well known host to a number of outdoor events, concerts and dinners.

She was given opportunities to host for concerts such as Joe Brooks Trio Live in KL 2012 and the Bon Jovi concert in 2015.

Among the events she has hosted: The Standard Chartered Kuala Lumpur Marathon for 3 years, the Color Run Malaysia for 2 years, The Milo Breakfast Run, The Juggernaut Games Malaysia, The Color My Heart Run by Great Eastern Life, The Bubble Run, Under Armour Malaysia's Test of Will, The World Premiere of Lee Chong Wei: Rise of The Legend, The Spring Live Active Run, The Music Run, Spartan Malaysia, #HeForShe Talk by the Star paper, Neubodi Active Launch[2], The Launch of Under Armour Threadborne, Launch of Armour@ThePark[3], Under Armour Spieth 2 and many more.

She was the courtside reporter for the Asean Basketball League for the Malaysia Dragons from 2013 - 2016 and attained experience for live sports coverage.

Acting Life[edit]

In 2010 Low got her first role in a local film entitled Belukar directed by Jason Chong, acting alongside acting veterans Bront Palarae, Daphne Iking, Azhar Sulaiman and Chew Kin Wah.[4]

In 2010 She played as a motion capture actress for Anisa in the animated TV series Saladdin.

In 2014 Low got involved with Christian Drama Group The Footstool Players, founded and led by Colin Kirton. She did a few seasons with them. First the tour Crazy Little Thing Called Love and Seeds.[5]

Ambassador Roles[edit]

Linora was the ambassador for the KIX R U Tough Enough? held in 2016, which was a competition between the genders for the cash prize of RM30,000.[6][7]

She was signed as one of the first few Under Armour Athletes when they launched in Malaysia in 2015 and his been an ambassador with them since.

She also signed with The World's Best Selling Whey Protein brand Optimum Nutrition after she took part in her first bodybuilding competition in 2017.


Fitness Influencer[edit]

A well known voice as a person who advocates fitness, Low has grown her brand as one of the most prominent fitness personalities in Malaysia.

She documents most of her workouts on her social mediums.
