Lionel Nishimwe is a Burundian film director , screenwriter and photographer.[1][2][3][4]

He started his career with his short film a colorful life which premiered at International Festival of Cinema and Audiovisual of Burundi in 2022.[5][6][7]

He was nominated at the Mashariki African film festival in 2022 and won the first ever SIGNIS award in Rwanda .[8][9][10][11][12]
